Will try to avoid lengthy candlestick descriptions in my WIP, although I swear I just devoted two lines to describing tea candles scattered around an apartment. And I loved this comment about how your other books had been written in a great gleaming burst of easy and delightful creativity...

Oh my gosh, this is hard work. But sure helps to hear other accomplished writers going through the same damn thing, over and over:)Lucy Burdettehttp://www.lucyburdette.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2037419790609319671.post-19035076591179753352011-07-13T12:25:32.341-04:002011-07-13T12:25:32.341-04:00Judy and Susan, I'm so glad it's helpful. ...Judy and Susan, I'm so glad it's helpful.

It certainly feels anything but while you're doing it, doesn't it?Megan Cranehttp://www.megancrane.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2037419790609319671.post-79644082964560960202011-07-13T11:16:20.851-04:002011-07-13T11:16:20.851-04:00Oh, Megan, this SO hit the spot with me! I was just telling another writer-friend yesterday, "Why do I find myself being so descriptive when I just need to keep this baby rolling and finish? I can add in details later!" But I think it's like your candlesticks. Just to be working and thinking about your WIP makes things happen in your head...and you need that to finally get to the finish line. So thanks for stating it all so beautifully (and humorously) and making me realize I'm not the only one who does this!Susan McBridehttp://susanmcbride.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2037419790609319671.post-47076887648720239722011-07-13T08:53:10.897-04:002011-07-13T08:53:10.897-04:00A perfect post for me to read today . . . off to d...A perfect post for me to read today . . . off to delete my own candlestick scene from yesterday!
